Pair Fukagawa Arita Japan Cobalt Blue Lily Of The Valley Porcelain Vases

Vintage Pair Fukagawa Arita Japan Cobalt Blue Lily Of The Valley Porcelain Vases

A beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find matching pair of vintage Fukagawa porcelain bud vases, expertly crafted in Arita, Japan and finished in the company’s renowned deep cobalt blue glaze.

Each vase is decorated with delicate Lily of the Valley flowers and foliage, a motif highly regarded in both Japanese and European decorative arts for its association with purity, renewal, and good fortune. The striking contrast between the rich cobalt ground and crisp floral decoration creates an elegant and timeless display.

Both vases retain their original Fukagawa labels featuring the Mount Fuji trademark, confirming production by one of Japan’s most respected porcelain manufacturers. Founded in the late 19th century, Fukagawa has long been recognised for producing high-quality Arita porcelain and has supplied pieces for both domestic and international markets.

Matching pairs are encountered far less frequently than individual examples, making this set particularly appealing to collectors of Japanese porcelain, Fukagawa wares, and fine decorative ceramics.

Collectability & Rarity

Fukagawa porcelain enjoys a strong international collector following, particularly pieces featuring the company’s signature cobalt blue glazes and floral designs. While individual examples occasionally appear on the secondary market, matching labelled pairs are encountered far less frequently.

The combination of the desirable Lily of the Valley decoration, original factory labels, matching presentation, and quality Arita porcelain craftsmanship makes this a highly attractive display set for collectors of Japanese ceramics and decorative arts.
